AI answer sheet checking in Telugu and Hindi

Most AI marking tools are built for typed English. Here is how SkoraAI checks handwritten Telugu, Hindi and mixed-language answer sheets against your school's own key.

Handwritten Telugu and Hindi, marked fairly

Most AI marking tools are built for typed English. Schools in India write in Telugu, Hindi and English, often on the same sheet, and by hand. If AI answer sheet checking cannot read those papers, it cannot help most of the schools that need it. That is why SkoraAI is built and tested on real handwritten Telugu, Hindi and English answer sheets.

Why regional-language papers are harder to mark

  • Handwriting in different scripts. Telugu and Devanagari letters join, stack and change shape in ways English handwriting does not.
  • Answers that switch language. A science answer in Telugu often uses English words for terms like "photosynthesis" or "force". A fair marker accepts both.
  • The same idea, many ways of saying it. Students write in their own words, in their own order. Matching words against the key marks them down for that.
  • Language papers mark the language itself. On a Telugu or Hindi paper, grammar, vocabulary and expression can be part of what the question tests.

How SkoraAI checks a Telugu or Hindi answer sheet

SkoraAI reads the scanned sheet, finds each answer and marks it against your school's own answer key. Each key point is judged on its own, with the student's words as the evidence, so an answer that explains the idea differently still gets the mark. This is concept-oriented marking, and it works the same way in all three languages.

Spelling and grammar are kept apart from content. On a science or social studies paper, the content is marked on content. On a language paper, vocabulary, grammar and expression are marked exactly where your marking scheme asks for them.

Where the handwriting is hard to read, or SkoraAI is unsure, the answer is flagged for a teacher, with the reason, and shown first.

What the school gets back

Every sheet comes back marked question by question, with feedback for the student and the chapters to revise. Principals see the weak chapters by class and section. Teachers get a short note for the parent-teacher meeting. The feedback is written for the student to read, and the report reaches students and parents once a teacher approves it. See the reports.

Boards and other languages

SkoraAI marks CBSE, ICSE and state-board papers, including Telangana and Andhra Pradesh state-board schools, against the key you supply. It reads English, Hindi and Telugu today. If your papers are in another Indian language, send us a sample and we will test it on your own sheets before you commit. Subjects, boards and languages.

Try it on a Telugu or Hindi paper. Send us one term-end paper your teachers have already marked. We mark it free and show you SkoraAI's marks next to your teachers', question by question. Send a paper →
